YOUNG GUNS 23

Founded by the Art Directors Club in 1996 as a showcase of emerging creative talent,  Young Guns is a portfolio-based competition for creative professionals 30 years of age or under that has grown to become one of the most coveted accolades in the global creative community.

If you win you will join the eclectic ranks of creative superstars like The Daniels, James Victore, Jessica Walsh, Timothy Goodman, Olimpia Zagnoli, Stefan Sagmeister, Menno Kluin, CALMATIC, Dana Tanamachi, Christoph Neimann, Ohni Lisle, Kerby Jean-Raymond, Mah Ferraz, Gemma O'Brien, Tré Seals, and so many others. See all past classes here.

YG23 is open to creative people 30 or younger with at least two years of professional experience and a portfolio featuring amazing creative work in anything from advertising, graphic design, illustration, photography, filmmaking, animation and beyond.

Young Guns is proud to partner with global artist management agency Levine/Leavitt to present the special Artist-In-Residence Award and Artist Assistance Program.  The Levine/Leavitt Young Guns Assistance Program is open to illustrators and photographers who qualify for Young Guns 23 but may not have the means to enter with ease. Successful applicants will be gifted with free entry into the Young Guns 23 competition courtesy of Levine/Leavitt. Learn more about the Assistance Program here and the Artist-in-Residence Award here.

YG branding and the design of the award are reimagined each year by a past Young Gun winner. This year’s YG23 branding and award are designed by YG19 winner Khyati Trehan.

Regular Deadline: Thursday, August 28th, 2025 at Midnight PT
